Two virtual community forums will be held in Montgomery County on July 9 and 10 to get citizen opinion on ways to address important health issues. The input will assist direct future planning among local groups and healthcare professionals.
According to the press release, Montgomery County will hold two online community meetings to get feedback from locals on how to deal with the county’s most urgent health issues. The sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, and Wednesday, July 10.
Zoom will be used for both sessions, and Spanish interpretation will be available.
In partnership with Adventist Healthcare, Holy Cross Health, MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, and Suburban Hospital, a division of Johns Hopkins Medicine, the County’s Public Health Services, a division of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), organizes these activities.
Key issues that County people face, including as access to community services, comprehensive health care, and healthy lifestyle options, were identified during last year’s community meetings. In order to overcome those obstacles and enhance health outcomes throughout the County, locals will be involved in developing the initiatives this year. Feedback from the community will help local groups and healthcare professionals plan together.
According to County Executive Marc Elrich, the first step in improving health outcomes in Montgomery County is to pay attention to and comprehend the difficulties we face. Whether it’s increasing care, removing obstacles, or investing in prevention, these sessions provide residents the opportunity to share what’s working, what isn’t, and what we need to improve. By placing community voices at the center of decision-making, we have made health equity a fundamental component of our governance.
Registration will be open until the beginning of each meeting and is mandatory.
