The 2025 Top 50 Pizza list has been released by 50 Top Pizza, a reputable pizza review website with its headquarters in Paestum, Italy, which is close to Naples. 50 Top Pizza, an impartial internet guide that pays for meals in full, is well-known for its thorough and anonymous inspections, which guarantee objective reviews. One nearby restaurant in Virginia also made the list, in addition to the two Maryland restaurants we already shared.
The family-run Italian eatery A Modo Mio, which is situated at 5555 Langston Blvd. in Arlington, was rated #32 nationwide. The Farruggio family brought their Italian ancestry and genuine flavors to the United States when they launched their first restaurant in 1978. They are originally from Agrigento, Sicily. This tradition is carried on by Arlington’s A Modo Mio, which changed its name from Joe’s Place Pizza and Pasta in October 2020.
This modification enabled them to emulate their popular Georgetown restaurant, Il Canale, by switching from a buffet concept to a full-service dining experience. Their dedication to serving real Italian food is reflected in the name, A Modo Mio, which means “in my fashion” or “my way.”
A Modo Mio is especially well-known for its Vera Pizza Napoletana (VPN) certified Neapolitan pizza. This certification indicates that their pizzas are prepared using exacting traditional procedures, using specified, primarily Italian ingredients like buffalo mozzarella and San Marzano tomatoes, and are cooked in an 800-900 degree, hand-built brick oven imported from Italy in 90 seconds or fewer. The authenticity is guaranteed by Antonio Biglietto, their renowned pizza cook from Naples, Italy.Their menu, which includes homemade foods from the family’s Italian recipe book, is a celebration of Italian cuisine that goes beyond pizza.
