We informed you about Sense of Thai’s intentions to open a restaurant at Westbard Square in Bethesda, Maryland, about a year ago. The restaurant at 5314 Zenith Overlook has recently been granted permission to start construction.
Ten years ago, in 2015, Sense of Thai launched its first store in Ashburn, Virginia. It will soon open a second site in Chantilly, Virginia. Authentic Southern Thai cuisine is served at Sense of Thai restaurants, which also have stylish décor, classy casual dining, and handcrafted cocktails. Pad Thai, Crispy Whole Fish, Chili-Garlic Pig (pork belly), Peking Duck Quesadilla, and Braised Pork Ramen are among the menu offerings.
Sense of Thai’s website states that the strong, fiery flavors of Southern Thailand, where our chef owner, Porntipa Pattanamekar, hails from, are the inspiration for our cuisine. Southern Thai Cuisine, which is well-known for its lively blend of Eastern and Western flavors, uses unusual ingredients including fresh fish, strong spices, and fragrant herbs.
At first, the restaurant planned to debut in the spring of 2025, however there were certain setbacks. Although a revised opening date has not been specified, assuming building proceeds according to schedule, late 2025 may be the date.
