Montgomery County Schedule for July 4: What’s Open and Closed

Public transportation will run on weekend or holiday schedules, garbage collection and park operations will be adjusted, and the majority of Montgomery County Government’s offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

According to the press release, on Friday, July 4, the Montgomery County Government and activities that affect County citizens will observe Independence Day according to a modified holiday schedule.

Modifications to the schedule for Friday, July 4, the holiday commemorating Independence Day:

- County offices Closed.
- MC 311 Closed.
- State offices and courts Closed.
- State Motor Vehicle Administration offices and Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program stations Closed.
- Libraries Closed.
- Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) All stores open 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Department of Permitting Services Closed.

- Outdoor Pools Open from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. & 3-6 p.m.
- Recreation, Senior and Indoor Aquatic Centers Closed.

Indoor nature facilities Closed. (Trails and nature play areas for all nature centers remain open from sunrise to sunset).
Open Parkways will operate on a normal schedule for the July Fourth holiday weekend, except on the portion affected by the Purple Line construction. During this time, parkways are open to pedestrians and bicyclists and closed to motor vehicles.
