On Tuesday night, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a large house fire on Rocking Horse Road in Rockville.
The situation was first reported at a single-family home on 11800 Rocking Horse Road, close to Red Fox Road, according to MCFRS Chief Spokesman Pete Piringer. Black smoke and a large fire were visible at the back of the single-family home as they arrived. To combat the fire, numerous units were sent to the scene, including EMS, engines, ladders, rescue units, brush units, and specialized units.
According to an update to Piringer’s original report, firefighters are currently controlling the situation at a one-story single-family home on Rocking Horse Road off Boiling Brook Parkway. The fire is evident on the back porch and has spread inside the main building.
The response effort now includes more equipment, such as additional assistance units, a portable tank, and additional engines. With the outside temperature at 92 degrees Fahrenheit and the humidity at 65%, firefighters are working in difficult conditions.
