In a statement released Sunday night, Governor Moore expressed support for deployed Maryland service members and their families while reaffirming that his administration is working closely with state and federal authorities to maintain public safety in the wake of the military strike in Iran.
In order to safeguard Marylanders both here and overseas, I have been closely coordinating with our cabinet, including the Maryland Military Department, in reaction to yesterday’s military strike in Iran. My first priority is public safety, and we are proactively collaborating with all governmental levels to be on guard against any possible physical or cyber retaliation.
I’m also thinking of the Maryland Guard, the service people who are serving in the Middle East right now, and their families today. I am aware of the tremendous sacrifices our soldiers and their families make on a daily basis because I have served overseas and worn the uniform of this nation with some of the finest American patriots and warriors. Their ongoing commitment to our state and nation is much appreciated.
In order to safeguard Marylanders both here and overseas, I have been closely coordinating with our cabinet, including the Maryland Military Department, in reaction to yesterday’s military strike in Iran. My first concern is public safety, and we are actively collaborating with everybody
