MCFRS Respond to Kitchen Fire

On Monday around 12:45 p.m., Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Services responded to a kitchen fire on the third floor of a building in the 18000 block of Cottage Garden Drive in Germantown.


According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was brought under control, and no injuries were reported.

7:03pm Update by MCFRS: “Cottage Garden Dr, Germantown; 3rd floor apt; Origin/Cause, kitchen, void space above stove, defective hood vent system/electrical wiring to appliance; Damage, $300K; Displaced, 26 adults, 6 kids; Smoke Alarms alerted neighbor of unoccupied apt; leasing office called 911”
