Two Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle Collision

A collision occurred at the intersection of Brink Road and Woodfield Road involving two vehicles on Friday night in Gaithersburg (near Laytonsville) at approximately 8pm.


One of the vehicles caught fire, prompting an immediate response from first responders, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer.

Per Piringer, Two adults were transported from the scene by MCFRS_EMIHS; both were reported as having no life-threatening injuries. One of the vehicles struck a tree– approximately 1 foot in diameter and 20 feet tall– which resulted in a blocked road. County road crews have been notified and some lanes remain closed as they work to clear the scene and restore traffic flow.
