According to its social media post, the Blair High School branch of Students FAIR (Students For Asylum and Immigration Reform)– Montgomery County student-run organization that advocates for, organizes, and fights for the rights of Maryland immigrant youth and families– has organized a walkout following the deportation of a classmate.

between Montgomery Blair High School’s FAIR and the Students FAIR states that on Thursday, June 12th, students will be “showing up for our classmate and for every undocumented student who deserves to learn without the threat of deportation.” The full text from the post can be seen below:
“Last week, one of our classmates was deported. We’re heartbroken, we’re angry, and we’re not staying silent.
Join us to protest indiscriminate and aggressive immigration actions.
This Thursday, June 12th after lunch, we’re walking out of Montgomery Blair High School to demand justice. Schools should be places of safety, not fear.

We’re showing up for our classmate and for every undocumented student who deserves to learn without the threat of deportation.
