Basements Flooded After Water Main Break; Traffic Diverted

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded at 11:33 a.m. on Tuesday to the 2700 block of Urbana Drive in Silver Spring for a reported water main break.

According to MCFRS spokesperson David Pazos, crews found a 12-inch water main had ruptured, undermining the ground and leading to reports of flooded basements in nearby homes. WSSC is on scene, and traffic in the area has been diverted.
