Sports Betting Contributes $7.7 Million to the State During

According to Maryland’s sports wagering program, Maryland’s sports wagering market had its fifth-best single-month performance in May 2025, generating $7,746,363 in contributions to the state.

Sports bettors in Maryland wagered $504,448,190 during May 2025 and won back $438,138,277 in prizes. Sportsbook operators held 13.1% of the handle. Operators paid 15% of their taxable proceeds to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund. The state had 11 mobile sports wagering platforms and 12 retail sportsbook locations that operated during May.

Taxable Win (Amount remaining after deducting prizes, promotional wagers and other amounts)
