The Montgomery County Sheriff’s posted the following on its Facebook page on Monday, June 9: “Recently, deputies assigned to the eviction section were out serving a Writ of Restitution. Upon entering a residence deputies discovered an unconscious subject on the floor. Additionally, deputies discovered the gas stove was on and emitting gas into the residence. Deputies quickly acted to secure the residence and attempted to wake up the subject. After waking up, the subject became agitated with the deputies. Deputies were able to de-escalate the situation and after assessing the subject, it was discovered that he was in need of mental health care to ensure his safety. Deputies were able to safely transport the subject to the nearest emergency facility to receive the mental health treatment that he needed.
Excellent work by the deputies involved who took quick and decisive action during this potentially life-threatening situation!”
