Below is a list of restaurants and businesses that will be coming soon to Gaithersburg, MD.


  • AH’HAAN

    is set to open this spring at 237 Kentlands Blvd, the former home of Good Fortune Cafe. Owned by the team behind Bangkok Garden, this full-service Thai restaurant will reintroduce some of the beloved original dishes from Bangkok Garden, which served the Bethesda community for 37 years.
  • Andy’s Pizza is opening a new location at 145 Commerce Square Place in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, taking over the space formerly occupied by MOD Pizza, which closed in March 2024. A representative from Andy’s noted, “The opening is a long way off, so we do not even have a date at this time. We will make an announcement on our social media for our grand opening when the time comes.” Known for its 72-hour cold-fermented dough baked in a New York deck oven, Andy’s Pizza offers a crisp crust, chewy interior, and a subtle sour flavor. The menu also includes salads, wings, fries, and more.

  • Buffalo Wild Wings Go

    introduced its first ‘Buffalo Wild Wings GO’ location, a scaled-down version of the restaurant that focuses on the to-go and delivery format, in Georgia back in 2020. Now, the company has signed on for its second location in the county (possibly first, depending on which one opens first). In March 2022, we let you know the restaurant will open its first ‘Go’ concept in the upcoming Crossroads at Kensington development– a new retail development that will be located at 10619 Connecticut Avenue (at Plyers Mill Road) in Kensington. Now, we know an additional location is coming to the Rock Grove Center on the corner of 355 and Shady Grove Rd next to Qdoba.

  • Fish Taco,

    a local, family-owned restaurant known for its Baja-inspired cuisine, is coming to The Shops of Potomac Valley shopping center (12121 Darnestown Rd) in Gaithersburg. The space was most recently planned for a Wayback Burger that never materialized and was previously home to an AT&T store. Fish Taco focuses on using seasonal, sustainable, and locally sourced ingredients to create high-quality, hand-crafted meals. According to the restaurant, its mission is to provide a welcoming space where guests can enjoy flavorful food, foster real connections, and value quality time.

  • Kareem’s Lebanese Kitchen

    is set to make a splash at Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront, taking over the space formerly occupied by Bach to Rock at 212 Boardwalk Place. An opening timeframe is not yet available. Already a success in Naples, Florida– where the restaurant opened its doors in February 2018–

    Kareem’s Lebanese Kitchen

    boasts impressive reviews, with a 4.6/5 rating on Google from over 900 reviews and a 4.4 rating on Yelp from more than 300 reviews. According to Rio Lakefront, the restaurant is renowned for its authentic Lebanese flavors and brings a vibrant taste of the Mediterranean to the local dining scene. From savory shawarma to fresh mezze, their menu is steeped in rich traditions and bold flavors that promise an unforgettable dining experience.


  • Koi Sushi

    will be taking the vacant space between Chipotle and Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls. We will provide an update when additional information becomes available.

  • Kong Dog

    is coming 12141 Darnestown Rd at the Shops at Potomac Valley shopping center. The restaurant, which offers unique corn dog combinations, is taking over the space that was the longtime home to Neal’s Bagels, before it moved to the Kentlands neighborhood last summer.

  • KOR Artisanal Bistro

    put up signage at 216 Main Street in Kentlands last year. We don’t have any news to report, but if it does open it will be taking over the space previously occupied by Kathy’s Gallery & Frames.

  • Maman Joon

    , a restaurant offering Persian cuisine, is coming to 15780 Shady Grove Rd in Gaithersburg, according to commercial real estate company KLNB. It will be located in the space previously occupied by Pieology Pizzeria in the 270 Center, which is also home to Home Depot and Amazon Fresh.

  • Mirchi Dhaba

    is set to open at 18280 Contour Rd at Montgomery Village Plaza in Gaithersburg, taking over the space formerly occupied by Chopathi Indian Kitchen, which closed earlier this year. The new restaurant comes from the owners of Royal Tandoor (820 Muddy Branch Rd, Gaithersburg) and will offer a variety of North and South Indian street food.

  • PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans

    will open its second Montgomery County location at the upcoming North Pointe at Flower Hill, a new 16,000 SF retail and restaurant center located at

    18251 Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg. North Pointe is located behind Gentleman Jim’s, which is a sister property to this project and other Flower Hill properties.

    The coffee shop is expected to open in late summer/early fall 2025. According to the company, “PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan, a pioneer in the coffee industry that demonstrated that better beans, superior roasting techniques, and pure passion for the art of coffee-making mattered. PJ’s Coffee serves a wide variety of hot, iced and frozen coffee beverages using only the top 1% of Arabica beans, as well as organic tea and fresh breakfast pastries.”

  • Play Street Museum

    will open its first Montgomery County location at 227 Kentlands Blvd in Gaithersburg in mid-2025. It will be taking over the space that was previously occupied by Hallmark. A Montgomery County native will be bringing Play Street Museum to Montgomery County. It is described as a unique indoor kids’ playground for ages 0-7, offering educational and collaborative play, with pottery and art for older kids. The upcoming Kentlands location will have open play during the week (by reservation for cleanliness) and birthday parties on weekends.

  • Plaza Mexico,

    which has two locations in Frederick, has signed on to open a rooftop restaurant and bar at the upcoming North Pointe at Flower Hill.

    The restaurant is currently in the permitting phase and aims to begin construction in January, with plans to open by fall or winter 2025.

  • Prime IV Hydration and Wellness


    will be located between Vine Alley and Neal’s Bagels in Kentlands. Prime IV offers treatments And IV infusions provided by medically licensed staff to help with hydration, athletic performance, anti-aging, hangover recovery, weight management, immunity boosts, altitude sickness, jet lag recovery, and more. Prime IV opened its first Montgomery County location at 4923 Elm Street Bethesda, the former home of arts & crafts shop All Fired Up.

  • Quincy’s Clubhouse

    is coming 245 Kentlands Blvd. The country club style restaurant, bar, and golf venue is taking over the location that was recently home to Not Your Average Joe’s. A $990,000 permit to begin alterations in the space was approved this past spring and now ownership tells us that they’re hoping for a Fall opening.

  • Rowan,

    a piercing studio with all of its piercings performed by licensed nurses, is opening a new location in Gaithersburg’s Downtown Crown. This will be the studio’s third Maryland location after opening its first in Bethesda and second in Annapolis.

  • Sixty Vines,

    the restaurant known for its revolutionary wine on-tap program and vineyard-inspired cuisine, is making its move into Maryland. It was previously reported that the restaurant signed on in Bethesda and now business filings show Gaithersburg’s Downtown Crown neighborhood as an address for a “Sixty Vines Montgomery County, LLC” taking over 212 Ellington Blvd– the former home of Pour House. Sixty Vines has nearby locations in DC’s Foggy Bottom neighborhood on Washington Circle and in Reston, VA. The restaurant invites guests to sip and savor 60 different wines on tap selected from wine country regions around the globe. A representative from Sixty Vines on social media told us “At this time I can not provide any information,” but a representative from the Reston, VA location told us that it’s a Sixty Vines restaurant is scheduled to open in Gaithersburg in October 2025. Kite Realty, which owns and operates the Downtown Crown retail development, did not have a comment.

  • T Pot Hot Pot & Korean BBQ

    is coming to 9679 Lost Knife Road in the Montgomery Village Crossing shopping center in Gaithersburg. It will be located in the space that was previously home to Golden Star Buffet. T Pot currently has locations at 2404 Brandermill Blvd in Gambrills, MD and 3016 Waldorf Market Pl in Waldorf, MD. According to its website, “T Pot understands that the perfect meal starts with the perfect ingredients which is why our food is fresh, local, and sustainable. We set high standards and are involved in each step of the process of ensuring high quality food. You can trust T Pot to provide you with these high quality ingredients at the best price.” We will provide an update when additional information becomes available.

  • Tropical Smoothie Cafe has

    also signed on to open a new location in the upcoming North Pointe at Flower Hill shopping center. Tropical Smoothie Cafe offers fresh made smoothies, flatbreads, wraps, quesadillas, sandwiches, and bowls. The chain has additional Montgomery County locations in Aspen Hill , Bethesda, Burtonsville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Rockville, and White Oak.

  • Uncle Marcos’ Express

    is coming at 239 Muddy Branch Rd in the Festival at Muddy Branch shopping center. The restaurant will be located in the space previously occupied by Boca Botanas, which closed on February 3. We will provide an update on Uncle Marcos’ when we learn addition information.
