80-Year-Old Man Charged with Killing 78-Year-Old Wife

Further details about a killing that took place in the 3300 block of N. Leisure World Blvd. on Saturday, July 5 have been made public.

Police discovered 78-year-old Beverly Rose Fletcher dead in her residence, with several stab wounds and evidence of blunt force trauma, according to a report by FOX 5. Vivian Stewart Nation, her 80-year-old husband, has been charged with first-degree murder after he allegedly admitted to assaulting her during a fight. Nation’s blood was found on a screwdriver, hammer, and knife at the scene.

The following information was released by the Montgomery County Police Department on Saturday night: at around 6:09 p.m., officers from the 4th District of the Montgomery County Department of Police and Fire Rescue personnel arrived at the scene in response to a report of a person experiencing cardiac arrest. Officers found an adult female who had been declared dead at the site. To ascertain the official cause and manner of death, an autopsy will be performed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore after the deceased is taken there.
