75 Firefighters Battle Basement Fire Amid Extreme Heat

Around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) arrived at 10 Brooks Avenue in Gaithersburg to react to a house fire.

The fire, which started in the basement and may have been caused by a lithium-ion battery explosion, was swiftly put out with no casualties recorded, according to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer. About 75 firemen worked in the intense heat.
