A single-family house on Dellabrooke Farm Lane, off Goldmine Road, in Brookeville caught fire on Sunday night. Several units and about 65 firemen from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded.
When MCFRS Chief spokesperson Pete Piringer first reported that there was a lot of smoke coming from the garage at 10:41 PM, units PE704, PE740, PE725, HCE52, E717, AT704, AT724, RS717, A740, BC704, BC701, RS715, AT718, M725, and EMS703 responded in full. When responders arrived, all residents and pets had safely left the residence.
Smoke was seen from the front entrance and the garage by 10:47 PM, and it was established that there was an active fire in the basement. To effectively control the fire, more fire suppression crews were positioned in crucial locations.
Task forces PE718, HCE52, T725, A725B, CT740, and MAU733 were reportedly positioned strategically close to Goldmine Road and Pyrite Lane around 11:12 PM. After starting in the big two-story house’s basement, the fire was largely controlled and put out, however workers were still looking for any possible extensions into other areas of the property.
