A 54-year-old Mexican national named Dimas Gonzalo Contreras-Nolasco entered a guilty plea to reentering the country illegally after being deported in 2005.
His federal sentencing for the re-entry charge is set for November 14, and he is presently serving a 10-year state prison sentence after being caught for rape in Rockville in 2021.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Maryland, 54-year-old Mexican national and citizen Dimas Gonzalo Contreras-Nolasco has entered a guilty plea to unlawfully reentering the United States following a previous deportation.
The guilty plea was announced by U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes for the District of Maryland, together with Acting Field Office Director Nikita Baker of the Baltimore Field Office’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE-ERO).
Court documents state that on September 18, 2005, Contreras-Nolasco entered the United States illegally and voluntarily. On that day, Contreras-Nolasco used the Del Rio, Texas, vehicle main inspection lanes to apply for entry into the United States from Mexico. Although Contreras-Nolasco did not provide identification or supporting papers, he verbally declared himself a citizen of the United States by birth. The United States Border Patrol processed Contreras-Nolasco for expedited removal after determining that he was inadmissible and subsequently directed him to return to Mexico.
When police apprehended Contreras-Nolasco for rape in Rockville, Maryland, on September 9, 2021, they discovered that he was once more in the country illegally. Then, in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland, on March 31, 2022, Contreras-Nolasco entered a guilty plea to second-degree rape and a second-degree sexual offense. He was given a 20-year state sentence, of which 10 years are suspended, and he is presently serving it. For the illegal re-entry accusations, Contreras-Nolasco now faces a year of supervised release, a $250,000 fine, and two years in federal prison.
Contreras-Nolasco never received permission from the US Attorney General or the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to be readmitted to the United States before his arrest in Montgomery County. The scheduled sentencing time is 1 p.m. on Friday, November 14.
