According to the press release: On Tuesday, June 24, the Montgomery County Office of Animal Services (OAS) carried out a search warrant at a dog daycare in Silver Spring that was functioning as an unauthorized residential enterprise on the 500 block of Sligo Avenue. The complaint prompted the start of the investigation.

23 canines were taken into protective custody by Animal Services officers and taken to the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center in Derwood for assessment and treatment.
