Maryland State Police are looking for anyone who may have come into contact with a Salisbury man who is suspected of posing as a state trooper and using a patrol car illegally.
Jayden Ballard, 19, of Salisbury, is the accused, according to Maryland State Police. On February 12, 2025, Ballard was handed a criminal summons. He was accused of unlawfully stealing a car and posing as a police officer. Ballard allegedly got access to a marked Maryland State Police vehicle, according to information the Maryland State Police acquired in February 2025. Investigators think he was making illegal traffic stops in Wicomico County while driving the patrol car in a Maryland State Police uniform.
The Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division is requesting that anyone who may have come into contact with Ballard while he was posing as a Maryland State Trooper get in touch with them. Senior Trooper Dick can be reached by phone at 410-749-3101 or by email at [email protected]. The inquiry is still ongoing.
