A New York City man won the final $1 million top prize on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off while visiting a friend in Morningside, Prince George’s County, and plans to invest his winnings. Full story below courtesy MD Lottery:
“A man from New York City scored a $1 million Lottery win on a scratch-off he purchased while visiting a friend in the Prince George’s County community of Morningside. A regular Lottery player regardless of the state where he is, the winner regards playing scratch-offs as “just a fun thing to do,” he said June 12 after claiming the windfall.
He described his reaction to winning as being happy, and said it beats his previous top Lottery win, which was for less than $500.His plan for the money: “Invest!”
The millionaire-making win came on the $20
Millionaire’s Club
ticket, which went on sale in July of 2024 with five top-tier million-dollar prizes available. The big ticket claimed by the New York player is the last of those top prizes.
Discount Tobacco and 99 Cent Store at 6701 Suitland Road in Morningside sold the ticket, and will receive a bonus of $1,000.”
